MOVE by Bose Tobit

Sometimes we make ourselves believe that we need a little push. Someone or something to motivate us to achieve something. So, we go around trying to get support from friends, family or anyone. We pitch our ideas to everyone and hope someone will agree with us. All we need is the ‘you are good to go” nod then we know we are on the right track. It’s okay to seek advice. It’s okay to ask for peoples’ opinion. But it becomes a problem when you find yourself waiting for peoples’ opinion before you can make a move. People are afraid to take risks these days. Everyone wants a manual on how to live life. What do I do? Where do I go from here? You find yourself shopping for advice on social media.

The push you need is in you. If you are constantly seeking peoples’ opinion, I want you to take a moment to ask yourself “when am I going to seek my opinion?”. Everyone is not going to agree with you and that is okay. The only person that needs to agree with you is you. The only support you need is you. You are enough. Your strength is enough. Stop doubting yourself and get moving.

There is a chance that the move you are about to make won’t work out or maybe it is moving too slow. The result is taking forever to show. But you can’t give up. If you give up, who will continue for you? It is your journey. You keep moving, you don’t stop. When you go on a journey, you encounter a lot on the way. Do you stop halfway because you hit an obstacle, or do you figure out how to continue the journey? That is the same thing with life. You hit a rock and it looks impossible to continue. You stand up and keep moving. Push yourself to do better. You cannot move forward if you keep waiting for peoples’ approval or opinion. It will slow you down. Go for it. If it doesn’t work out, learn from it. No matter what happens, never stop pushing forward. Be on the move.

The push you need is in you

BREATHE by Bose Tobit

Sometimes I ask myself, have I gotten so used to pain that I forget to breathe? Or am I focusing so much on how to make the pain go away that I didn’t even try to learn how to live with it? Wait, did I bury the pain? If I buried it, why do I still feel it?

Have you ever had that time in your life where you wish it will all go away? You cry out and say, “God, please take this away from me”. You believe in God, so you fast and pray, asking God to relieve your pain. But it feels like the more you pray, the more you feel the pain. What is happening? Am I not praying the right way? If I can just get to the other side of this mountain, everything will be fine. Even though I have no idea what is on the other side, I just want to get there. If God can just make the storm stop, everything will be fine.

What if God wants you to learn how to breathe through the pain? Trust, faith, those are the two things God wants from you. Pain is inevitable. Storms are going to keep coming, whether you like it or not. This is the time to hold on to your faith. This is the time to remind God of his promises for your life.

For I know what my plans for you are, plans to save you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and to give you hope” Jeremiah 29:11

Do you see the good news there? God knows his plans for your life. He sees your pain. Before you call on him, he knows. Just hold on.

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear” Isaiah 65:24

It’s 1:22 am and I paused to write because I got tired of studying. Reading about alleles and genotype is not really a fun thing to do at this time of the day.

Before I go to bed, I want you to remember that reading this is a blessing. It means you are alive and being alive means God has a purpose for your life. He is not done with you yet. So, this storm can’t swallow you. This is not the end. You will make it through this because you have the one who holds the world in his hands on your side. Breathe through the pain.

Love,

B
